Trent Krejci (Mr. K) is a Florida native, born raised in the Tampa Bay area where he graduated from Wesley Chapel High School in 2018. From a young age he loved music and would sing and write songs by ear. At the age of eleven he began learning trombone in band and since then, he has continued to develop and explore his passion for music in a variety of ways. His primary instrument is the euphonium.
Mr. K is a recent graduate of Florida International University, where he completed his B.M. in Music Education, summa cum laude, with additional certification in Music Business. Degree concentrations included arts leadership, grant writing, and live sound reinforcement. During his time at FIU, he presided as President of C-NAfME Chapter #535, Assistant Drum Major for the FIU Wertheim Marching Band, and as a Teaching Assistant (TA) for several music theory classes. Mr. K is a proud Presser Scholar, and an alumnus of Eastern Music Festival and Kappa Kappa Psi Honorary Band Service Fraternity. Most recently, he has been recognized as the 24-25' Undergraduate Service Award recipient by the FIU Wertheim School of Music & Performing Arts.
Prior to coming to Ferguson, Mr. K was an interning teacher at South Miami Magnet High School for the Arts and Bowman Ashe/Doolin K-8 Magnet Music Academy. During his time as a teacher, Mr. K has taught students of every age ranging from grades K-12. As a teacher, he believes deeply in developing student literacy as it pertains to music, as well as utilizing music as a means to develop vital life skills and enhance students' performance in their academic classes.
Between his responsibilities at Ferguson, Mr. K also spends his time writing and recording music for several projects. Most recently, he performed tuba on "Degeneration", with Grammy and Latin Grammy award-winner David Fernandez. Mr. K is also in demand as a guest teaching artist for various schools across South Florida.
